<![CDATA[Welcome to help for MyRideTrac - FAQ]]>Sat, 08 Jun 2024 18:12:33 -0700Weebly<![CDATA[Is anyone trying to sell you something?]]>Thu, 29 Sep 2016 18:12:39 GMThttp://qwikfind.net/faq/is-anyone-trying-to-sell-me-somethingNOPE with MyRideTrac. There are some who are offering free apps. They are pretty good, but... nothing is for free. They may be selling your tracking data or rating you for insurance purposes (Health or Auto), or trying to sell you something else.

MyRideTrac runs on your phone, backs your data up to your Google Drive or iCloud and sends emails to you or whomever you choose. No tracking. Eventually, a coupon may find its way to you, but that is because it will BENEFIT YOU... e.g. SAVE YOU MORE BUCKS/DINERO/PESOS/EUROS whatever your favorite currency.

So... beware those "free" apps. ]]>
<![CDATA[Do I need to swipe right or left at the end of the day?]]>Thu, 29 Sep 2016 14:31:32 GMThttp://qwikfind.net/faq/do-i-need-to-swipe-right-or-left-at-the-end-of-the-dayNOPE. You can hit the RIDER button when you start your day and you are done. If you like to track your empty miles, you can hit the RIDER / NORIDER buttons during the day to tag your miles. But... because you are doing this while you are driving (it takes a second to do) (see video here) - there is no work to do when you get home, unless you consider opening that soft drink or beer work! ]]><![CDATA[Do I need to "kill" the app by swiping up]]>Thu, 29 Sep 2016 14:29:19 GMThttp://qwikfind.net/faq/do-i-need-to-kill-the-app-by-swiping-upNO. MyRideTrac is designed to be very stable and run in the background. While the app is running in the background it is doing the following things:
1. Tracking your miles (RIDER/NORIDER/PERSONAL). If you want to stop logging hit the STOP button.
2. Backing up your data. The app needs to be running to back up your data. If you kill it, it can't back up.

MyRideTrac is also monitoring your memory. The operating system kills apps that are in the background when it nears being full. MyRideTrac will warn you when memory is near full so that you can choose what apps you want to kill. We are for you being in control.]]>
<![CDATA[How come the END DATE/TIME is missing on some log entries?]]>Thu, 29 Sep 2016 01:54:14 GMThttp://qwikfind.net/faq/how-come-the-end-datetime-is-missing-on-some-log-entriesThis is caused when the app is killed before an event is ended either by switching to another event (RIDER/NORIDER/PERSONAL/STOP. MyRideTrac can run all the time in the background. There should be no need to "kill" the app by swiping up. Nothing bad happens if you do, you just may not get an end date entered into your log. ]]><![CDATA[Can I enter backdated expenses and miles?]]>Thu, 29 Sep 2016 01:52:04 GMThttp://qwikfind.net/faq/can-i-enter-backdated-expenses-and-milesExpenses Yes! You can enter backdated expenses directly into MyRideTrac on the EXPENSES screen. Just dial in the odometer number you want, key in the date and select the expense type from the spinner wheel.

Miles Yes - in the spreadsheet. Miles are tracked automatically by the GPS system built into your phone. The easiest way to add miles to your log is to use the handy spreadsheet that is sent with your SEND REPORT email. You can add a summary of miles to the top or bottom of the spreadsheet very easily using Google Docs or Excel. Send an email to Support if you want some help. ]]>

YES! You can hit the STOP button on the widget or the HOME screen to stop logging into the database. This reduces battery consumption.

Apple won't let us install the widget automatically, believe me we have tried.

1. Pull down your TODAY menu.
2. Scroll to the bottom and press EDIT
3. Find MYRIDETRACTODAY in the list of available widgets (alpha order)
4. Hit the green plus sign to add it to the menu
5. Scroll up and drag the MYRIDETRACTODAY widget to the top of your menu
6. Hit DONE!
