Can I start and stop tracking to save battery

YES!  You can hit the STOP button on the widget or the HOME screen to stop logging into the database.  This reduces battery consumption.

Before, when I want to reduce my battery consumption, I just stop all my running applications then activate airplane mode. It's easier that way. On the downside I can't be contacted or contact anyone. Then, I found Greenify. It allows me to put other apps into hibernation when they aren't in use, preventing them from operating in the background. It works really well.

I never knew about this application. I think that I can save my battery now much more. I wasn't aware that you can do this with your mobile. This is the primary reason why I lose tons of battery whenever going out. I'll definitely try this out as soon as possible and get back on to you if it worked.
